ALERT!
Monday Night:Village Trailer Park Design up for Architectural Review City Hall, Council Chambers, 7 p.m. Dear Friends and Neighbors, Your feedback is needed! A very important decision is about to be made that will impact Mid City and beyond. The first of the massive development projects on the east end of Santa Monica goes before the Architectural Review Board (ARB) this Monday night. This decision starts the design tone and allowable criteria for the many projects already in the pipeline. See and hear what is planned for 2930 Colorado Ave., better known as Village Trailer Park. As many recall, this development saw elderly and disabled owners forced to leave their homes, and has been a hot-button issue in Santa Monica for several years. The ARB must determine if this design is compatible with the neighborhood. Located directly across the street from R-1, and R-2 residential homes, the developer is asking for heights over 50 feet, 377 "pack and stack" apartments, and in addition, 24,950 square feet of retail/production space. Two new roads will intersect this 3+ acre parcel and direct traffic from all over the east end of Santa Monica onto Yale and Pennsylvania Avenues. Respond to: [email protected].
