June 4, 2013 -- "Saving the Civic Topic of Community Meeting

A crowd of at least 100 residents and city officials packed a crowded Virginia Park meeting room to discuss future options for the soon-to-be-mothballed Civic Auditorium. The participants gave input into possible options for the restoration and operation of the 55-year-old landmark, with topics like funding, management, and what other features might be included as part of a "Cultural Campus" surrounding the Civic.  The City Council will take up the Civic's Future at it's June 11th meeting.  Several members of the local "Save the Civic" group took part in the community meeting.  They've created a website and a Facebook Page packed with new and relevant information.  More info: http://savethecivic.org
