An estimated 3,000 people filled the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium Saturday night to hear what could be the final performance by the Santa Monica Symphony at the landmark venue. The City Council voted to mothball the facility this July, but efforts to save the Civic are well underway. An Urban Land Institute panel says the Civic can be saved if managed effectively.
