Dear Members,
Santa Monica has "A Plan for the Future." Are you a part of it? Tomorrow night our city council will be deciding the fate of programs you may depend on. They need to hear from you before noon tomorrow, Tuesday May 5, 2020. The city is in dire financial straits and will have to pick and choose which programs stay and which programs go. (Of course we really want them to pick which employees earning over $250,000 per year will go so the rest can stay but that's never the story.) It has gotten so bad that city staff have reached out to the neighborhood groups to beg for support so their sacred cows are not the ones gored. There is much on the chopping block for tomorrow night and the meeting will be starting at 3:00 pm.
