Speakers to be Announced. Shall the City's General Plan and Municipal Code be amended to require: a new permit process for major development projects exceeding base sizes or heights of 32-36 feet, with exceptions such as single unit dwellings and some affordable housing projects; voter approval of major development projects and development agreements, excluding affordable housing and moderate income and senior housing projects, among others; and voter approval of changes to City land use and planning policy documents?

Free Community Self-Defense Class

An invitation to adults who live, work, or attend school in Santa Monica
The Santa Monica Police Department is collaborating with Krav Maga Worldwide to offer a free Community Self-Defense Class to adults who live, work, or attend school in Santa Monica.
This is a great chance for any adult who has concerns about personal safety to learn techniques that could help you if you are ever in a vulnerable position.
Participants 16-18 years of age must have a signed consent from a parent or guardian.
The free 2-hour class (3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.) will be taught by Santa Monica Police Officers from our Defensive Tactics Unit and Krav Maga staff.
The class will be offered on: Saturday, September 17, 2016; Saturday, September 24, 2016; and, onSaturday, October 1, 2016, at the West LA Krav Maga facility. Limit one seminar per person.
Advance reservations are mandatory; class size is limited – register now!

Citywide Yard Sale
When: September 24th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Where: Right outside your front door - Citywide
What:  Residents and organizations will be hosting their own yardsale.  The City will be providing a catalog listing their featured items, map of yard sale locations and a resource list of charitable organizations accepting donations. Items will be available during the week of September 19th (more to follow).
