It was great meeting all of you who joined us to celebrate the first Santa Monica Mid City Neighbors Fall Family Festival. We love bringing fun, interesting entertainment along with delicious food and conversation to Mid City. Board members made chili, friends and neighbors brought wonderful dessert offerings. Each event is better than the last in large part because of the generosity of our neighbors and sponsors. Fall Family Festival Chair, Catherine Huh did a great job. Brava Cathy! The Colorado Center Fountain Courtyard, worked perfectly for meeting old friends and making new connections. The costume parade, children's craft tent, fortune teller, Zoltar and accordionist Mike Bolger kept everyone entertained while friends and families enjoyed meeting our new City Manager, Rick Cole, Councilmember Gleam Davis, Santa Monica College Board of Trustees Susan Aminoff and Rob Greenstein Rader, City Council candidates Terence Later, Armen Melkonians, Oscar de la Torre, SMMUSD Board of Education, Anastasia Foster, Rent Control Board candidate, Diane Miller, Commission on the Status of Women and Dolores "Dolly" Sloan, Chair Pro Tempore, Landmarks Commission. These festive community-building events are a perfect way to meet our neighbors, so expect more of them in the future. Thank you and welcome to all new members and those who re-upped.
